home? home.

so i have made it. i am sitting in my living room, enjoying brand new wireless connection and slowly getting over a terrible jetlag. i have four points to make, really, so i cut the small talk and get straight to business:

primo: i am not gonna be writing over the summer, as this blog is not about my life, but my university life. i am, though, going to respond to letters, emails, facebook messages etc., so please do not suspend those. i will be back in vancouver on 28th of august, so only then i will recommence my blog activity.

segundo: plans for the summer are chilling, interrailing and volunteering in norway, quite close to the college btw. i really feel i have desrved this summer by eating shit and cutting my spendings over last term to absolute minimum.

tertio: the exam results have come out and yes, i am keeping my scholarship. all the best to everybody, wherever you are.

oh, and i am visitng the college this thursday with bakkerud and bunny. should be fun. will be fun. :-) takk for maten.

finals, rotary presentation, drinking and bomb threats

hello.
so much has been happening in last couple of days. i have written two final exams, in psychology and latin american history. i am hoping to keep the scholarship yet for another term... :-) then we had bomb threat on campus, which was quite ridiculously taken care of. i laughed when i heard about this, because the security tried to act seriously, but really they had no idea what to do. somebody must have gotten an inspiration from virginia tech. bravo. yesterdaty i was presenting to burnaby rotary club about the uwcs. they invited me for lunch, listened carefully and asked interesting questions. one of them actually told me i gave him a lesson on public speaking. interesting old gentelman. the same day, but couple of hours later i was slowly saying goodbye to my favorite places: commercial drive, davie street, gastown, chinatown, burnaby mtn park. also my german friend, steffen, left yesterday. on the same evening i had a bottle of finlandia with derek and salome. and that, i have to say, is never a mistake for spending time. now, as my room is a saigon and i am trying to unfrost the fridge, and do some laundry, and pack at the same time i am just dreaming of getting my ass on the plane. today is the last full day of my first year university experience. it was good. i started liking it, especially in the second term when i found some specific stuff to do.
ok, enough hangover mumbling. i shall continue packing and dreaming of flekke.

hello universe! goodbye universe!

"hello. goodbye. hello. goodbye." this is how billy pilgrim (was that his name?) used to greet people and this is how i greet you today. for life is an incredible and neverending chain of beginnings and endings, isn't it?

my second semester is almost over, and it's time to dream about the summer and how wonderful it will be (unless we blow ourselves up before i get a chance to taste, but this is a different, longer story)... being back in the paradise of lpc, travelling here and there, and there again. saying hello, goodbye, and hello again. embracing this wholeness of beginnings and endings.

for now, though, i shall better go and finish this essay for latin american history on a guy called hugo chavez. anyone has heard about him? ;-)
